Let Me In By Callie Croix

Blurb: On leave for Thanksgiving, the last thing marine lieutenant Talia Barnett expects to find is Liam Brodie waiting for her at the airport. He’s had a starring role in her fantasies for the past two years, and although she’d love to make them a reality, she has a dark secret that prevents her from taking things further.

A former Marine, Liam’s specialty is planning tactical operations, and that’s just what he plans to do to win Talia. The woman has kept him at arm’s length for too long, and this time he’s finally going to claim her—body and heart.

What begins as comfort quickly turns hot. When Liam shows Talia a hint of the dominant nature inside him, the submissive part of her flares to life. Though she desires him, she’s going back on deployment and doesn’t want to dump all her drama on him. Will he find a way to break through the protective walls around her heart and convince her they have a future that goes far beyond the bedroom?

This novella sucked me in and wouldn't let me go until I finished the whole thing!

I truly became emotionally attached to Talia & Liam.

In the beginning of the story, Liam's sister, Angie says to Liam...

"Tone down the alpha-male-on-the-hunt routine. God, could you at least be a little bit more subtle? She's one of my best friends, and you're staring at her like a starving wolf"

I felt that stare while reading and wanted it focused on me! I wanted to be the wolf's desert! Liam "reads" Talia very well. I like it when the man in the story "gets" the woman, and isn't stumbling around trying to figure her out. Maybe it's because they have an established friendship, I am not sure, but these two work very well as a couple. I understood Talia's embarrassment over her secret and thought that Liam handled the situation perfectly. I loved this book so much that I had to go back & reread the connected book, No Holds Barred.

Party Of Three by Daire St Denis

Blurb: Determined to end a long dry spell, Tina is thwarted by her best friend, Des, who scares off the only eligible guy at their party. But Des more than makes up for it when she and her boyfriend, Josh, invite Tina to their own intimate celebration. The encounter awakens cravings Tina didn’t even know she had. She’s intrigued when the couple asks her to join them for two days of sun, sand and steamy sex in Santa Barbara. She should say no. But she doesn’t…

The erotic weekend is beyond amazing. But there’s something deeper developing between the trio—something Tina is not yet ready to explore. After all, their party of three can’t last forever—can it?

I picked this book to read because most of the menage books I have read previously have been MMF and this one was MFF, I thought, oohh something different. Well, it was different. The basis of the story, the menage between Des & Josh (the established couple) and Des' best friend Tina, was good. I thought it was decently written, especially the awkwardness between the three in the very begining. It was the sub-plot about Kenton that I just didn't get. The two parts just didn't mesh for me. If the sub-plot was in a different story, then yes, I could maybe understand it better. I just didn't think it worked as one. Daire St Claire is a new to me author, and I will give her another try in the future.

Improper Relations by Juliana Ross

Blurb: When Hannah’s caught watching her late husband’s cousin debauch the maid in the library, she’s mortified—but also intrigued. An unpaid companion to his aunt, she’s used to being ignored.

The black sheep of the family, Leo has nothing but his good looks and noble birth to recommend him. Hannah ought to be appalled at what she’s witnessed, but there’s something about Leo that draws her to him.

When Leo claims he can prove that women can feel desire as passionately as men, Hannah is incredulous. Her own experiences have been uninspiring. Yet she can’t bring herself to refuse his audacious proposal when he offers to tutor her in the art of lovemaking. As the tantalizing, wicked lessons continue, she begins to fear she’s losing not just her inhibitions, but her heart as well. The poorest of relations, she has nothing to offer Leo but herself. Will it be enough when their erotic education ends?

I love Historicals, that being said, I don't usually read anything from this time period, I am more of a medieval kind of girl. I was very surprised to find myself really liking this story. Hannah has been so sheltered, first with her husband, then as a companion to Aunt Augusta. Her introduction into desire by Leo is very steamy. As the story goes on you can feel Hannah becoming stronger, more independent. Through her relationship with Leo, Hannah gains the confidence that allows her to move ahead with her life and become an independent woman. Something most woman were not allowed back then. Also because of this relationship, Leo finds himself gaining the strength he needs to come out from under the title of second son. I think I will check out more of Juliana Ross' books.

The Darkest Day by Britt Bury

BURNS BRIGHTEST . . .

ON THE DARKEST DAY

WOW!!!!! This is Britt Bury's debut novel, and for a debut this is a home run, a grand slam home run!!! I keep hearing the old 70's disco song by Andrea True, More More More, going through my head! It is my understanding that this is the first book in a series. That series will be called Immortal Heat. I cannot wait for more of this series and this first one hasn't even released yet! (release date is set for July 3, 2012)

I have to tell you that I love anything & everything that has to do with Scotland, so this book had an established advantage with me from the very beginning. But it wasn't necessary.

The paranormal world that Britt Bury has written for this book is so well developed, and the characters, main and secondary, are so in depth that I am awed by her writing. When I am able to be transported into a world by the written word alone, then the book is beyond great!

I have now put Britt Bury on the same TBR page as my other fav paranormal authors, Larissa Ione, Gena Showalter, & Kresley Cole. The storyline, the plot, the steamy sex, & the hot guys with a melt your panties accent, this book has it all. Please, add this to your own TBR list you won't be sorry!

Bound Temptations

a duet featuring BEG ME and TEMPT ME

Beg me…

there had been a time when those words made her burn with desire. But now, there was only fear. Once, Tania Sinclair’s life was almost perfect…But a couple of tragedies later, she’s barely holding it together. A car accident took away her husband, and an attack from somebody she should have been able to trust has shaken not only her confidence, but it’s also stripped away her fantasies and even made it painful to look back on her memories of her husband without fear. Two years after her attack, Tania is determined to take her life back and the first step is taking back herself…her fantasies, her dreams, her memories. Falling for your best friend’s wife—never smart. Drake’s watched Tania quietly for years, watched her…wanted her, knowing he’d never have her. First, she was taken. And then, that night two years ago—a night that still scars her, a night that’s left bruises on her that still haven’t healed. He does what he can, though, because he loves her too much not to. He’s her friend, there when she needs him. And now she needs him. She’s asked him for a favor…one that just about blows his mind… Warning: This book involves light bondage play, rape fantasy & role-playing. The acts between the hero & heroine are consensual, but they may not be ideal for all readers…
